It’s easy to mistrust what you don’t know and you don’t understand and that is why we want to set up projects in order to foster a point of contact and the acquaintance between autochthons and non-autochthons. Mutual acquaintance would lead to understand that a lot of matters are mistaken for problems connected to immigration; we would then have a weakening of the dynamics of ghettoization and separation which, for now, are uncontrollable. We need to find the courage that will come out only from mutual acquaintance, to go beyond that attitude which is nothing but a result of a wrong image of the other one. In order to achieve this we think we need to create a space opened to our city’s varied voices and to the different problems concerning the international situation. By operating in this sense, our first project is aimed particularly to young immigrants in a refugee centre. We want to give them a chance to grow up with a dream and the possibilities to achieve it. We want to easy their way out of isolation and the knowledge of the society where they are growing into, by physically and socially taking them out from the suburbs where they live.

Being able to cope with the different offices and bureaucracy has become a huge problem for immigrants. One of our aims it to activate advice and help in this type of adversity. These difficulties can definitely be moderated by a good linguistic communication, so therefore there will be literacy and Italian language courses.

Acquaintance must occur either between immigrants and local reality or between people who don’t share the same environment but who have the same human condition in common, even if they live in very different situations.

Our activities in the international area will be led alongside a constant research and studies that will give us acquaintances and means in order to dig out unknown and unconsidered situations.

We will promote conventions, meetings and cultural activities in order to make complex and difficult situations known.

In the international cooperation field we will make our first steps by collaborating with existing associations with the same aims and conduct we have, without excluding the accomplishment of new projects whose necessity and possibility we will evaluate.

We want to highlight our task aimed to promote the utter accomplishment of the universal principles of equality and liberty and the struggle against any form of discrimination and violence.

We are totally aware of the extent of this project and of its ambition, but we are working without any utopian pretence, with the firm belief that things cannot change without a constant effort and a daily work.
