STATUTORY

First Part

The association named UNIVERSO INTERCULTURAL ASSOCIATION is established, with premises in Bologna, with address at via belle arti 19a.

The association is with no time limit.

- what we are forming

We are constituting a global community of human rights defenders, whose principles are international solidarity, the effective action for individual victims, a global covering, the universality and indivisibility of human rights, fairness and independence of law, democracy and mutual respect. Today’s war is almost never a collation between two or more armed forces, the enormous gap of economic and military power may lead to other forms of armed conflict that challenge the traditional idea of war: we struggle against wars as a showdown, against terrorism, against abuses of corruption and against a globalization that ails the majority of human beings by polarizing the rich and the poor.

We want our work to be the hallmark of research and constant study of historical, political, statistical, economic, sociological and cultural material, beginning from those countries that before others, need aid, defense and support.

We are aware that this is going to be a never-ending work, and we are also aware that one life is not enough to learn everything that is needed for such a wide-ranging project.

That is the reason why the Association will start up with clear, down-to-earth ideas: we want to operate on the local level first, in certain Bologna areas and then extend the fields of our activity also to the regional level, little by little. We will then step forward to the national level, by presenting ourselves to the world according to what we achieved on the local level.

Create the economic and organizational conditions whose aim is the development of production and cultural diffusion in different artistic-visual, musical, performance, editorial, telematic and multimedia information areas.

Promote a magazine that reflects the spirit and norms of the charter and the association itself.

Favor those projects and groups, those individuals who are particularly alert in research problems, cultural testing and innovation concerning language and content.

Favor communication among citizens, the local community and Institutions, by suggesting and experimenting new projects of acquaintance and also new ways and opportunities of cultural, civil, social and political participation. In particular the protection of spaces in specific situations that need urban retrieval, through the promotion of cultural activities that will deter degrading instincts.

Promote and highlight abilities and creative capabilities in the multimedia production and service, that is becoming more and more important nowadays.

Support and promote initiatives and activities that will involve the population in the issues regarding multi-ethnicity, in order to oppose inequalities and exclusions, to favor tolerance and civil cohabitation.

Highlight relations in different cultural, multimedia, social and economic areas in order to favor the promotion and innovation of the local system by experience exchange.

Support the importance of work, in all of its forms, in particular the protection and development of the so called “atypical” work and cultural production, also by providing internal training and educational diffusion activities and criteria that will point out the individuals’ abilities, as an reference which is essential in order to determine development choices.

Contribute to the development of activities, professional communities, formal and informal interaction structures and collaboration both in the public and private areas, in particular to the development of services for people and enterprises, to the diffusion of new technologies in areas such as information and multimedia communication..

Second Part

This is why the Association wants to

Place at disposal and organize, when it is possible, an intercultural and multiethnic space which is open to the whole townspeople, where meeting occasions and mutual acquaintance between the autochthons and immigrants will be created. In order to do so, we want to promote and support cultural initiatives for the community that will spread, motivate and easy mutual acquaintance between people of different culture and roots.

Contribute in creating relationship spaces between autochthons and non-autochthons, through which they will face each other and work on social representations to express a new sociality, a social cohabitation which is ready to welcome the other and make them become an integral part of ourselves.

Promote the effective accomplishment of the constitutional rights concerning the equal acknowledgement of rights and equal dignity, in order to oppose every form of discrimination towards people who, for ethnic, political, cultural, economic, genre and religion reasons live daily on the fringes of society.

Build a bibliographical, documentary, musical, audio-visual, multimedia assets that ALL members, according to the internal rules, can use.

Produce documentary material that will highlight the knowledge of different traditions.

Support and organize, either directly or indirectly, demonstrations, city meetings & local/national/international conferences and conventions.

Support every event, show, artistic, social, legal, technical and scientific study and research on different issues.

We do not want cultural issues boil down to concrete events, thus we want to involve as many people as possible to organize multimedia informative activities, activities records and create information and communication also through games and mass events, in order to increase the number of people in our projects and consequently in our Association.

Organize, participate in, promote, advertise and coordinate, also in collaboration with other Associations, Societies or Public Authorities of any legal nature: public demonstration, conventions, seminaries and congresses on the issues listed above and on all the questions that concern the Association’s purposes.

Organize, participate in, promote, advertise and coordinate, also together with other Associations, Societies or Public Authorities of any legal nature: parties, shows, meetings and editorial activities – also through telematics – radio and TV activities according to the laws in force, fairs, cultural and artistic events.

On the cooperation level, in order to achieve our aims and carry out our activity, the Association accepts donations, bequests, subscriptions and contributions of any kind by individual persons, Associations, Public Authorities, Societies of people and capitals.

For the achievement of its purposes, the Association can collaborate and give information to Public and Private Authorities, Professional Associations, other Organizations, Committees, Companies and individual citizens, contract obligations, enter into contracts, make agreements, covenants and protocol agreements.

We ask our professors, teachers of the Faculty of Political Sciences and teachers of other faculties, either internal or external, for help, as experts in social-political and cultural areas in general, in order to increase our knowledge and our abilities in the practical field.

We will tend to ask for support to Non-Governmental Organizations, to State and/or Governmental Organizations, to financial Organizations and to ecologic Organizations already well-established on the international level so that we can increase our preparation masterhood of cooperation and of international bonds, first on the European level, and then with the rest of the world.

Third Part

Social Organs and rules

Membership to the Association is free and voluntary, but it binds its members to a precise charter and to the resolutions its representative organs take.

Members’ admission occurs on request by people interested: those who want to join the association must have shown a bent for the Charter’s listed activities, and they must not have interests at odds with them.

Members are divided into two categories:

active members
supporting members

Authorities and Associations of any kind can become members of the Association, according to the admission and participation rules concerning the Association activities that are set by the Board of Directors.

Applications made by an Authority or a legal person must contain:

Name, premises and line of business;
A document, including the name of the individual person who is going to represent the Authority or the legal person;
Members’ characteristics and entity;

The applying Authority or Association must attach a copy of the Charter and the authorization document.

The Board of Directors deliberates on the application.

By accepting this Charter and the internal rules that are issued by the competent organs, and by sharing the Association’s purposes, all the Italian or foreign people can become supporting members who will request it according to the admission rules the Board of Directors will set.
